Every year approximately 2000 tutors teach the thousands of WEA courses that take place in local communities across England and Scotland. To our students they are the face of the WEA providing expert tuition obviously but also providing so much more. They encourage and support students, helping them gain confidence, knowledge and skills. They enrich the lives of thousands of students and help create the welcoming and friendly atmosphere experienced in every WEA course.

We are always interested to hear from qualified tutors across England and Scotland. Our tutors are paid an hourly rate and employed on a sessional basis. If you are interested in tutoring with us can you please apply to the WEA office in Edinburgh who will ensure that the local area receives your application for inclusion in our “pool” of potential course tutors. This does not guarantee an offer of a course, but your details will be held for consideration when vacancies occur.

For more information on teaching with the WEA you can download an application form here and EOM form here.

The WEA is committed to encouraging Diversity and Equality, and welcomes applications from disabled people and from members of ethnic minority groups.
