Bringing to Life the Meaning of Conscientious Objection across Scotland: Legacies of Resistance

Project Aim

To empower learners to undercover the stories of Scotland's conscientious objectors during the first world war bring to light their experiences and how objection shaped their lives and communities following the war.

Project Description

The lived experience of conscientious objectors in Scotland during and after the First World War has largely been ignored. This project in partnership with the Edinburgh Peace and Justice Centre will seek to tell their stories as part of the centenary to bring to life the impact of the First World War on communities across Scotland.
