The WEA works with a wide range of local and national organisations to achieve our aims of reaching those adults with the greatest barriers to learning. Partnerships ensure that our work extends opportunity and does not duplicate.
Current partners include:
- Local community learning and development services, cultural and leisure services and heritage organisations.
- Local Enterprise Companies (Scottish Enterprise and Highlands and Islands Enterprise Networks), other economic development agencies, social inclusion partnerships and employment initiatives.
- Trade unions, for example UNISON, T&GWU, USDAW, GMBU, rail unions.
- Health promotion initiatives including mental health organisations.
- Councils for racial equality
- Disability rights organisations
- Other organisations which work with specific disadvantaged groups, for example Women's Aid, YWCA, YMCA, Gingerbread, Home Start, etc.
