Chris Jannetta
Learning & Development Officer – ESOL, Aberdeen
I am Learning and Development Officer for ESOL, responsible for co-ordination, creating resources, designing courses, sharing ideas, emotional intelligence, forward planning, budgeting, administration.
I like the opportunity to be creative, discover the real needs of individual learners and create a solution. The Syrian New Scots are a worthwhile cause. It is a real honour to be asked to support them.
I hope to expand the range (e.g. workplace, ESOL parents, refugees, Everyday English, exam English, academic English, report writing etc.) and number of ESOL classes across Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire so that learners are aware of how our classes contribute to possible life pathways for them. To invest in ESOL Practitioners so that they feel more confident and able to provide the best learning experience for our learners. Making learners more independent, self-assured, and to feel part of the community and society. I hope that the time spent on them leads to a hugely successful life for them whether that be regarding health, wealth, knowledge, skills, readiness for the workplace or happiness.
