My role is to co-ordinate WEA Scotland’s Transitions in Later Life project. Currently in its second year and funded by the Gulbenkian Foundation, the project combines mindfulness, reflective writing and Qi Gong practices as a means of supporting people aging well. A focus is the development of partnership working with various key organisations such as the NHS, DWP, Connecting Carers, Women’s Birchwood, Merkinch Community Partnership and Forrese Wellbeing project.
I am a Scots-Irish Poet, Storyteller and Community Artist and a trained counsellor and integrative arts therapist. I am Storytelling Fellow for Aberdeen, Writer in Residence for the Cromarty Arts Trust and Reader in Residence for Inverness. In the past, I have been Artist Educator for the Tate Galleries and Storyteller in Residence for Coral Arts, a site specific participatory arts theatre company in Oxfordshire and Wiltshire.
