Counting on a greener Scotland

Project Aim

To design, develop and deliver a tutor resource for adult learners, incorporating feedback from learner reviews of previously available learning materials

Project Description

Adult literacies in Scotland 2020, Scotland's ten year strategy for improving adult literacy and numeracy, is clear that learners should have access to high quality resources. The Workers' Educational Association and Heather Reid, in collaboration with Education Scotland, have responded to this aspiration by producing this learning pack-Counting on a greener Scotland (COGS). The COGS pack aims to provide opportunities for learners to develop their knowledge, skills and understanding of numeracy, in the particular contexts of weather, climate change and energy. Relevance to everyday life is a key concept of this resource.

Target audience

Community based adult learners, through the resource has been used in schools and FE colleges
