Women in the Highlands

Project Aim

By engaging with Women in the Highlands project, women will be encouraged and empowered to participate in and engage with services and civic society, leading to increased community cohesion and recognition

Project Description

The Women in the Highlands (WITH) project will lay the foundations for four self-governing and sustainable women's groups in the Highlands. Through these groups, women will be encouraged and empowered to participate in and engage with services and civic society. Women expressing an interest in becoming leaders will be supported and have increased access to development opportunities. Existing groups will be identified and links forged via Hi-Sat, the Highland satellite cluster group of the Women's Equality Steering Group (WESG). This recognition will lead to the sharing of knowledge and experience, more opportunities for learning and development , and increased community cohesion.
