In my role at Unite the Union, I began to work with the WEA and get involved in projects helping students improve their skills and qualifications. In 2013 we came to the WEA looking to develop an online ESOL course that could be used offline. This was a great success and won a NIACE Adult Learners Week Award. Since then, I have become a part-time WEA tutor and found a passion for teaching. Helping people improve their language skills has been one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever done. As and ambassador I hope to share my journey and promote the remarkable work of the WEA.
