Harriet Tay

I am the Project Organiser for the Women in the Highlands Project which engages with women across the Highlands. It’s about supporting them to get their voices heard and encouraging them to be connected, empowered and participate in their communities and wider society.

Previously I worked in social care services for over fifteen years, which involved providing support for a wide range of people. I needed to be flexible and to have a vision and I bring this passion for working with people to my present role.

The Project provides learning and development opportunities which centre around what is important to the women and how they can express their ideas. One of the things I enjoy most about my role is building relationships with the women. This role is varied and very creative and each woman brings something unique to the Project. Many have been part of the Project for a long time and I enjoy seeing their ideas and contributions develop. I would like to see the Women in the Highlands Project continue and expand across new areas of the Highlands.
