The basic I.T. course gives those who have on I.T. skills or are simply in need of a refresher the chance to learn computer skills in a supportive, caring and flexible environment.
We go right back to the beginning, the basics, starting with 'what is a mouse and keyboard' through to learning how to use the basic Microsoft word, the internet and other computer packages. The content of the course is non prescriptive and draws on what individuals think they need to know about information technology. In this day and age learners understand that they have to engage with I.T. to navigate benefit systems and to help them with future employment.
The project is aimed at those who are either going through the criminal justice system, have substance misuse issues, have mental health problems, a learning difficulty or are long term unemployed.
