Our open programme in Highland is normally advertised to the general public and organised either by a member of our staff or through our local associations. These courses are subsidised by our local authority partners Highlife Highland through a Service Level Agreement. Our open programmes and courses sometimes have a small fee to attend which is paid for by the individual learners.

Mindkind

MindKind is a course for young people and their parents or carers. MindKind aims to develop self-awareness and social awareness. The sessions use mindfulness-based practices to explore how they can help us:

  • Cope with stress and anxiety
  • Cope with change
  • Communicate effectively
  • Consider our Options and Choices

Window on the World

The internet is full of FREE opportunities to learn. From FutureLearn and the Open University to YouTube and Ted Talks, there are a multitude of ways to learn new things at your own pace and in your own home.
In this WEA course you will
•master the basics of online learning,
improve your digital skills
•enrol in and complete a FutureLearn online course

Are you interested in learning more about health and wellbeing for yourself? For your family? For your community? This course explores what we mean by health issues and how they can affect us in our communities and in our lives.

Arting Around

This course is an introduction to art skills and wellbeing using a variety of drawing, painting and textured material, to have fun and relax. Learners draw on their own imagination and observation, with guidance from the tutor.
