Curriculum and programme offer
All WEA courses aim to build confidence and skills and are organised and progressive. They are often a bridge to further learning.
The WEA's programme is categorised into three separate and interlinked strands:
- Community Learning
- Workplace Learning
- Open Programme
They are defined by the way learners are recruited and the context in which the programmes are delivered. Each may draw on the full range of the WEA curriculum.
Community Learning
Stimulating and providing education for adults in the community is central to the WEA Scotland's work. Much of this provision is developed through partnerships with a range of local and national organisations.
Workplace Learning

WEA Approach to Learning
The WEA embeds vital skills, such as literacy, use of information technology, confidence and critical understanding, into courses covering all subjects and issues.
